Andrew Mack & Son Brush Company has created a new handmade brush, made in the USA, called the Hanson/Mack "King 13" which is offered in 6 sizes and are a 0000000, 00000, 000, 00, 0, and 1. The hair length for the 7-0, 5-0 and the 000 is 1 3/4" long. The 00, 0, and the #1 hair length is 1-7/8" to 2" long. The brushes also have more taper than the standard Mack, for more turning control. The amount of hair that is distributed onto the handle during the making process is configured differently than the Mack Series #10 & #20 brushes. For example, the 0000000, 00000, 000 are made on a #00 handle, the 00 is made on a #0 handle, and the 0 is made on a #1 handle. The technicians apply 10% less hair than normal for the specific size, and put the hair on a larger surface area. The hair is the same type that is used on the "blue wrap" brushes.
